A real chapter site, live on its own subdomain — this is what you get on day one.
You start with a polished site on day one, and you grow it into whatever you want. You don't click around a clunky admin panel — you just tell an AI assistant what you'd like, and it builds it. A one- or two-person team can run a site that looks like a whole studio made it.
A clean start you grow into
Your site already looks like a real brand from the first day — fast, polished, on-message — with no designer and nothing to set up. From there it's yours: change the style to fit your city's vibe, add pages, and grow it into a rich content system as your chapter takes off. There's no ceiling.
Menus, themes & settings
Click through admin panels, wrestle plugins and templates for every change — slower, fiddlier, rarely beautiful. And a login, updates, and security to babysit.
Just say what you want
Polished by default, fully custom when you want. You describe it, the AI builds it, you publish — and it's live worldwide in minutes. Nothing to host or maintain.
What you'll bring
Two tools of your own — both quick to set up:
- An AI coding assistant — we recommend Claude Code. This is the helper that actually edits your site when you tell it what you want.
- An image generator for banners and graphics — like gpt-image-2 or Nano Banana 2.
You can use ChatGPT instead, but it's slower: you end up copying and pasting by hand, and it can't reach in and edit your site directly the way Claude Code can. We'll help you get set up during onboarding.
Your two addresses. Once you're set up, your chapter has:
• a private code home (GitHub) at github.com/lunatechs-social/lunatechs-chapter-<yourcity>
• your live site at <yourcity>.lunatechs.social — e.g. hk.lunatechs.social, sg.lunatechs.social, la.lunatechs.social

How you'll work
Once you're set up, every change is the same easy loop:
A quick safety check runs before anything publishes — if a change is broken, it simply doesn't go live and your site stays as it was. So you (and your AI assistant) can experiment freely. And you have your own private copy of the site, walled off from every other chapter — you can't break anyone else's, and they can't touch yours.
What you can build
Most weeks you'll just update your events. But you can add as many pages as you like — the freeform ones are where chapters show personality:
Home + events
Your landing page and your list of upcoming & past events. The everyday stuff.
Recap pages
A page after each event — the story, photos, and turnout.
Event pages
A full page to promote a big event — like the one below.
Don't start from scratch — your site comes with example pages you (or your assistant) can copy and rewrite. Just say: “copy the example recap page and fill it in with these photos and notes.”
Your events
Your events live as a simple list your assistant keeps up to date. Upcoming events show as big banners; once they're over, they turn into recaps visitors can browse — with a tidy grid view when you've got a few.
Photos & video
Great photos sell the vibe — just keep them web-sized so pages stay fast (your AI assistant can shrink a folder of photos for you in seconds). Skip the giant camera originals.
For video, use YouTube — post talks and recaps there and pop the player onto your page. Please don't store video files on the site itself.
Mainland China: YouTube isn't reachable there. We're working on a China-friendly option — for now, also keep a backup link so mainland visitors aren't left with a blank box. Ask the core team if you're running a China-facing event.
How much can I store?
We're generous — but your site is the place to show a curated handful of web-sized photos, not a backup or archive for everything you shoot. Years of well-sized highlight photos are no problem; gigabytes of raw event media are not.
Heads up: we don't offer media storage or archiving — not even at the global level yet. The volume of media we capture at events is enormous, and a proper archive is a problem we haven't solved. Keep your full photo sets and originals in your own storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud…) and put only the highlights on your site. Video goes to YouTube. Need extra room for something special? Just ask.
Fast everywhere — handled for you
Your site runs on the same global network as the main Lunatechs site. It loads quickly whether someone's in Hong Kong, LA, or London; it's secure (the padlock in the browser); and you never touch a server, a bill, or any settings. You publish — the network delivers it fast, everywhere. That's why we keep photos web-sized: light pages on a global network feel instant.
