What good Luma covers do

Survive the square. The feed thumbnail is a center-cropped square — the left/right of a wide banner vanishes. Put the logo and one line of text dead center.
Read at thumbnail size. If you can't read it in the little square above, no one scrolling can either.
Contrast over the city. Your card sits in a stack of others. Bold color + big type beats a busy photo with small text.
Looks intentional on the event page too. There it shows uncropped — so it should work both square and full.
